Wolverhampton based packaging distributors, Network Packaging, have fought off strong competition to clinch one of the top honours at the 2012 Express & Star Business Awards, winning the coveted Small Business of the Year category.
Covering the West Midlands, the Express & Star is the UK’s biggest-selling regional evening newspaper, owned by Midland News Association Ltd.
Network Packaging received their award at a glittering ceremony held on Thursday 22 March, at the Wolverhampton Racecourse, West Midlands. Their category was sponsored by local solicitors, Higgs & Sons.
The company impressed the judges with a range of strengths, including being able to demonstrate a competitive advantage, plans for future growth, innovation and the support of a highly committed workforce – all against the backdrop of a challenging economy. The judging process included a fact-finding visit by judges to the Network Packaging site, to find out more about the company and meet staff.
Network’s Andy Plimmer said, “We are thrilled to win the Small Business of the Year Award. Being a small, close knit organisation, this prize is ultimately down to the contribution made by all our employees.
